Here’s the thing. Most people who join have never touched a computer mouse before. That’s fine. That’s exactly who this course is for.

The course covers Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet browsing, and Gmail over three months. Forty-five classes. Five days a week. Only five students per batch, so the teacher can actually watch what you’re doing.

What Do You Learn in a Basic Computer Course?

Microsoft Word Software

You start with the basics. Opening the program. Typing text. Then formatting, like bold, italic, font sizes, alignment. Tables. Page margins.

Header and footer. I’ve seen students struggle for twenty minutes just trying to select text with a mouse. It happens. You’ll get past it.

By the end, you can create official letters, CVs, and simple reports.

Microsoft Excel Course In Tangail

Excel scares people. I get it. Rows and columns look like a math teacher’s nightmare. But here’s what you actually learn.

Data entry, basic formulas like SUM and AVERAGE, simple formatting, and how to make a basic sheet look clean. No complex macros. No VBA. Just the stuff that keeps a small business running.

You also learn how to sort data, use simple filters, and print sheets without cutting off half your work. That last part alone is worth the course fee. Seriously.

Microsoft PowerPoint

Creating slides. Adding text, images, and shapes. Slide transitions. Basic animation. You won’t become a presentation designer overnight. But you’ll put together a decent slide deck for a class project, office meeting, or shop advertisement.

Most students enjoy PowerPoint the most. It feels creative. And the results look good fast.

Internet Browsing

Opening a browser. Searching on Google. Downloading files. Bookmarks. Staying safe online. You’d be surprised how many people don’t know how to type a web address. No shame in it. But you need this skill.

Gmail and Email

Creating a Gmail account. Composing emails. Replying. Adding attachments. Understanding cc and bcc. Email etiquette basics. You practice sending real emails during class, not just reading about it.

Who Should Join This Computer Course?

Complete Beginners

Never used a computer? Perfect. You’re the target student. This course starts from zero. Literally from how to hold a mouse.

Students After SSC or HSC

You just finished your exams. You have a few months before the next step. Use them. Computer skills look good on any admission form or CV.

Job Seekers

Most job listings in Tangail ask for basic computer knowledge. If you can’t type a letter in Word or make a simple Excel sheet, you lose out. Simple as that.

Office Workers

Already working somewhere but feeling lost when your boss asks you to “just make a quick spreadsheet”? Yeah. Join this course.

Adults Who Have Never Used a Computer

Age doesn’t matter here. HA-MIM IT accepts students from 15 to 45 years old. I’ve watched adults in their forties go from barely moving a mouse to typing full paragraphs in Word. It takes patience. But it works.

How Much Does a Basic Computer Course Cost in Tangail?

The current course fee is 5,000 taka. You pay half at admission. That’s 2,500 taka. The remaining 2,500 taka comes after your 22nd or 23rd class. No hidden charges. No surprise fees.

If you walk around Tangail town, near Nirala Mor area, you’ll find similar courses for 4,000 to 6,000 taka. But HA-MIM IT gives you 45 classes, each 1 hour 30 minutes long, weekly exams, and a government-certified certificate. For 5,000 taka. That’s a fair deal.

That’s it. Straightforward pricing.

Basic Computer Course Duration and Class Schedule

Three months. Forty-five to fifty classes. Five days a week. Each class runs about 1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes. Pick morning, afternoon, or evening slots. The exact timing gets fixed with your teacher once your batch forms.

Classes run from 8am in the morning to 7pm in the evening. No classes during prayer times. Friday and Saturday are off, per government rules for institutes.

This isn’t one of those rush-through-everything programs. You get real time to practice.

Do You Need a Laptop for Basic Computer Training?

No. You don’t need to bring anything.

HA-MIM IT provides computers at the training center. You show up, sit down, and start working. This is different from the other courses at HA-MIM IT (Graphic Design, WordPress, SEO, Affiliate Marketing) where having your own laptop matters more.

For this beginner course, the institute handles the equipment.

How Much Should You Practice at Home?

About 1 to 2 hours daily. Yes, daily. Computer skills are like riding a bike. You can’t learn it by watching someone else do it.

You get homework, assignments, and weekly tests. Students who skip home practice usually fall behind by the third week. Don’t be that person.

After class, you can stay back for 20 minutes to practice in the lab. Use that time.

Is the Basic Computer Course BTEB Certified?

What Certificate Do You Receive?

You get a Certificate in Computer Office Application through the Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB). The official certificate name is Certificate in Computer Office Application.

How Does the BTEB Certificate Process Work?

HA-MIM IT handles the BTEB registration. The process works in five steps. First, admission and registration at the institute.

Second, the board final exam. Third, result and certificate creation. Fourth, distribution through the institute. Fifth, you collect it.

The certificate is 100 percent BTEB’s own and government-issued. HA-MIM IT’s BTEB institute code is 54218. You use this code on admission forms, exam forms, your CV, and the online portal when checking results.

Can the Certificate Help With Jobs?

It helps when an employer specifically asks for a recognized computer certificate. Many government and private job postings in Bangladesh mention a BTEB computer certificate as a preferred or minimum qualification.

But let’s be honest. It won’t magically get you a job on its own. Your actual skills matter more than the paper. The certificate supports your application. It doesn’t replace competence.

What Practical Problems Do Beginners Face?

After watching hundreds of beginners walk through this course, here’s what comes up every batch.

Mouse control. Moving the cursor where you want it sounds trivial. For someone who has never used a mouse, it’s frustrating. The cursor jumps around. Double-clicks become triple-clicks or no-clicks. You’ll laugh about it later. Right now, it’s annoying.

Typing. Hunting for each letter on the keyboard takes forever at first. Speed comes slowly. But it does come.

File management. Saving a file and then not finding it. This happens to almost every new student.

Shortcut keys. Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, Ctrl+S. They seem simple. Memorizing them takes repetition.

English software interface. Word and Excel use English menus. For students uncomfortable reading English, this adds difficulty. The teacher explains each menu item in Bangla during class. So you’re covered.

What Happens During the BTEB Exam?

The exam has two parts. Practical and viva.

Both happen at Tangail Polytechnic Institute. The exam runs on Friday mornings from 9am to 12pm.

In the practical section, you complete tasks on a computer. Formatting a document in Word, making calculations in Excel, creating slides in PowerPoint. The viva is a short oral test where the examiner asks basic questions about what you’ve learned.

The total exam is 500 marks. 250 from our internal assessment, 250 from the board exam day.

If you’ve attended classes and done your homework, you’ll pass.

What Can You Do After the Course?

Office Jobs and Data Entry

You can apply for office assistant, data entry operator, or clerical positions. These roles exist everywhere in Tangail. Schools, pharmacies, real estate offices, government departments. Many businesses also need people to maintain inventory or track expenses in Excel. Steady work.

PowerPoint Work

Schools and local organizations frequently need slide presentations. Handy side skill.

Next Step for Freelancing

Once you’re comfortable with a computer, move into HA-MIM IT’s Graphic Design, WordPress, SEO, or Amazon Affiliate Marketing courses. Those open doors to online freelancing. But you need basic computer skills first. That’s exactly what this course gives you.

Why Learn Computer Skills in a Classroom?

Direct Teacher Help

You get stuck. You raise your hand. The teacher comes over and shows you what went wrong. Try getting that from a YouTube video.

Practice During Class

You don’t just watch demonstrations. You do the work yourself, right there, on a real computer, while the teacher watches.

Weekly Tests and Fixed Learning Path

Tests keep you honest. If you’re falling behind, they show it early. And no guessing what to learn next. The syllabus is set.

Who Teaches Basic Computer at HA-MIM IT?

Syed Hasimul Kabir Rana. Founder and Executive Director of HA-MIM IT. He has 32 years of teaching experience. Thirty-two years. That’s longer than most of his students have been alive.

He teaches this course himself. Not an assistant. The founder. That matters because beginners need someone patient, and experience brings patience.

His teaching style is “Practical, Hands-on, and Job-Oriented Learning.” He believes learning the real application of technology matters more than memorizing theory or definitions.

Over his career, he has trained more than 3,500 students in the Tangail area. Around 60 percent of them got jobs after finishing, because they needed the certificate for employment.
